Soil Building and an Introduction to Permaculture

Saturday, December 27, 2014

Although winter is just starting, now is the perfect time to start thinking about spring planting. One guaranteed benefit for your garden is to focus on building rich soil. Help us lay the foundation for a great garden while learning the tips and tricks to building healthy soil, with no digging necessary. We will be focussing on sheet mulching to achieve an awesome foundation for our upcoming projects.

We will also be launching this series with a brief introduction to the principles of permaculture. Permaculture is a design system and methodology that goes beyond sustainability and aims to build a healthier, more abundant planet.

Instructor: Tom McGlynn
Tom is a co-owner and founder of FTB. After helping establish community gardens in Chemnitz, Germany, Tom returned to the US to receive his Permaculture Design Certification and advanced certificates. Since then he has returned to his hometown of Norristown, and has become a force towards establishing a resilient community and local food sources.
